Frequently Asked Questions

Even in the best circumstances, our children can experience challenging emotions and behaviors. All children have feelings of sadness, anger, anxiety and even irritatiability. Sometimes the length in which children experience these feelings or behaviors prevent them from their full potential; in general if these feelings persist a few weeks or longer, you should seek help for your child.

My training and education supports me working with children from birth, yes this includes infants and toddlers with little to no vocabulary. These sessions incorporate play based techniques, art and reciprocal games/play.

In general, we have all experienced challenging or traumatic events in our lives. If those events have led to ongoing interruptions in your daily lives, you may benefit from therapy.

Each session is 50 minutes long

Right now my hours are 8am-6pm, If you need an appointment time outside of this, lets talk, I am sure I can assist

 The services I provide are reimbursable through insurance on an out-of-network basis. To see if this option is available to you, please contact your insurance company and inquire about “mental health out-of-network benefits”.

If you choose to use your insurance, you would pay me for my services directly, and then submit your claim to the insurance company. I will provide “insurance ready” receipts to help you with the insurance claim process.

Ages & Stages Questionnaires®

(ASQ®) provides reliable, accurate developmental and social-emotional screening for children between birth and age 6.

Vanderbilt Assessment

The NICHQ Vanderbilt Assessment Scales are used by health care professionals to help diagnose ADHD in children between the ages of 6- and 12-years.

M-CHAT

 The Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers, Revised (M-CHAT-R) is a screener that will ask a series of 20 questions about your child’s behavior. It’s intended for toddlers between 16 and 30 months of age. The results will let you know if a further evaluation may be needed. You can use the results of the screener to discuss any concerns that you may have with your child’s healthcare provider.

ITERS

The ITERS is a classroom assessment tool designed to measure the quality of group programs for infants and toddlers (birth to age 3) by collecting data through classroom observations and a staff interview. The assessment is a 39-item rating scale organized into seven environmental subscales.
